Dr. Kirsch provided great communication about my injury, my treatment, the result of my surgery and post op expectations. This was extremely important to me. He has suggested post op treatments/equipment to improve recovery that other doctors have not.

Unfortunately, having a total reverse shoulder replacement by Dr. Kirsch and his team was one of THE best experiences in my life!!!!! I was dealing with shoulder pain for several years due to what I believed to be was a torn rotator cuff. Because my wife had one and her recovery was almost worse than the injury itself, I delayed addressing mine until January 2025. The x-rays showed I had severe osteoarthritis and I started cortisone injections. The first two worked, but the last one in December 2025 did not, which is when I was introduced to Dr. Kirsch regarding surgery. From the moment we met, I knew he was someone I could trust. He took the time to explain everything in detail using my x-rays and a 3-D shoulder model. In addition to the arthritis, one of my bones had not formed properly when I was growing up which contributed to the problems. I never knew because I never had any problems up until now. Dr. Kirsch was excited to work on my shoulder because of this! During the past three months leading up to my surgery which was yesterday, Wednesday March 25th, the entire team at BBJI and BOSS have been outstanding. They have kept me informed every step of the way with constant reminders of what I needed to do to prepare for my surgery. I had to get a detailed CT scan so Dr. Kirsh could properly plan for the surgery, and a physical from my PCP to clear me for the surgery. My wife and I stayed at a hotel right across the highway from BOSS in Waltham, MA because I needed to be there at 5:45 am to complete some paperwork. We live in Plymouth and did not want to drive up that morning. The surgery included about an hour of prep time (IV insertion, vitals check, nerve blocker, paperwork, etc.), two hours of actual surgery, and another for recovery. We finally left BOSS about 11 am and were home by noon. The evening prior to surgery, Dr. Kirsch called me to make sure I was prepared and to answer any questions I may have. I told him I was a bit nervous, but I had complete confidence in him and his Team. This morning, Thursday, Dr. Kirsch called me at 7am to see how I was doing. I said I am doing great and proceeding smoothly toward a full recovery. I also received a call from one of the nurses at BOSS to see how I was doing. As I said in the beginning, this was one of the best life experiences I have ever had. I COMPLETELY trust Dr. Kirsch and his team, as well as BBJI and BOSS. They have gone above and beyond to make sure I have all the information I need at every step of the way, including detailed cost breakdowns, medications, physical therapy, etc. I highly recommend them!!!!!

While an outstanding shoulder surgeon by recommendation, he is patient oriented and holistic thinking in his approach. These attributes are so rare in a surgeon. I am a harsh judge as a medical doctor, myself, with over 37 years of sharing mutual patients’ care with many, varied surgeons. I feel lucky now to be under the care of Dr. Kirsch.
